Installing a diesel hot water system is not significantly more complex than installing a diesel air heater. If you have basic technical skills and are comfortable with simple 12-volt wiring, installing an exhaust system, running a fuel line, and mounting the unit, you should be able to install a diesel hot water system.
One of the benefits of diesel systems, unlike gas is that there is no license required to install them.
One important exception applies to our E-Solar systems: if the system includes a 240-volt heating element, this component must be installed and wired by a qualified electrician.
All of our kits include detailed installation instructions designed for installers who may not have fitted this type of system before. The manuals provide step-by-step guidance, supported by clear explanations, photos, and diagrams to help ensure a correct installation. Dieselheat is also available to assist if you have any questions during the process.
A good way to assess whether you are comfortable undertaking the installation is to review one of our installation manuals. For example, the DH15 Installation Manual provides a clear overview of what is involved in installing this system.
If you are still not sure, feel free to contact Dieselheat and we can help you decide if installing your own system is the right approach for you.
